How to get camera insurance?
What type of company do you use to insure your digital camera/ lenses, or is there such a thing. I know my Nikon has a 2 year warranty, but it was purchased through Circuit City… and well, I need to know where to go and how to go about going there, if something should ever happen to the camera or to the lenses. Can you buy insurance on this type of item from somewhere like State Farm?? Or does Nikon offer it’s own insurance plan?
I photograph horses, and would hate for the camera to accidentally get kicked one day and be totally screwed.
You can get insurance from your local insurance company. They usually cover breaks, theft, etc. Give them a call. Won’t hurt to ask.
There are also 3rd party companies that cover photography equipment. http://www.nikonians.com had some info on it.
