Canon Camera Flash Smoke

why does my girlfriend&#8217;s camera smoke after taking a picture with flash?

it doesn&#8217;t do it all the time. definite poof of smoke comes out. camera was sent back once already, there was smoke that time followed by mechanical noise and out of focus. repaired under warranty with no explanation. new canon digital [...]]]></description>
